- This study focused on the educational environment in which children grow up in the community, and in the process of forming a new community, small libraries and school libraries were created and the educational environment was gradually created.
In this change, the small library and school library were searched for ways for children to grow up healthy.
For this purpose, the researcher observed the formation of village education community for a long time and examined the recognition of community cooperation between small libraries and school libraries through in-depth interviews with people engaged in small library activities and school library work. Small libraries, which are the subject of the case study, are the center of village communities and are carrying out various activities such as ecological education and visiting local institutions.
Also, school libraries are gradually strengthening their role in school education.
In the process of forming a new community, we focused on the educational community organized by parents and villagers, and searched for the possibility of community cooperation between small libraries and school libraries through the educational community and investigated the perception of each library staff on cooperation plans.
For a long time, we participated in the formation of community education community, observed the process, and grasped the social context based on the cases of small libraries and school libraries.
Through this, the study examined the contact point where school education and social education can be connected by illuminating realistic problems related to community cooperation and seeking ways of cooperation between community and library. In order to specifically seek ways of cooperation between community and library, the study examined the perception of the operators of library and village education community through participatory observation and in-depth interviews, and examined cases of community cooperation.
In addition, the researcher developed and operated a reading program with librarians, homeroom teachers, and teachers at schools, and sought ways to cooperate with schools, school libraries and local communities through a survey on librarians and homeroom teachers' awareness of library and community cooperation in relation to the operation of such programs.
First, it is necessary to improve the awareness of library staff on cooperation between local communities and libraries and to create an environment for continuous cooperation.
Second, it is necessary to form a consultative body to cooperate with local communities and to revitalize related education.
Third, the placement and willingness of librarian teachers influence the activation of cooperation between libraries and local communities, and the cooperation between libraries and local communities can bring about various positive educational effects through the linkage of school education and community education.
This study has a limitation in generalizing the cooperation plan of local community and library in the whole small library and school library in Korea as the cooperation plan of local community centering on the village education community of Gyeongnam Innovation City.
The significance of this study is to conduct participatory observation on the formation of local educational community, to investigate the perception of community cooperation of small libraries and school library managers through in-depth interviews, to examine the possibility of cooperation based on the operation of reading programs, and to find out the connection between libraries and regions in one community and to present realistic cooperation plans.
